The Brief
Blast From The Past is a festival designed to teleport attendees straight into the vibrant energy of the ‘90s. The goal was to create a bold, eye-catching brand identity that would resonate with Millennials and Gen Xers eager to relive their glory days while sparking curiosity in Gen Zers who wish they’d been there. This project needed to capture the essence of ‘90s pop culture—music, fashion, and all things fun—while giving it a fresh, modern twist that stands out in today’s festival scene.

The Solution
The visual identity was all about dialling up the nostalgia with a bold, comic-style explosion logo featuring a smiley face in a bucket hat—an iconic nod to the rave and hip-hop culture of the ‘90s.
Bright yellows, blues, and pinks formed a neon colour palette that screams pure, unfiltered fun.
Funky patterns, peace signs, and playful illustrative elements brought in the quirky, over-the-top vibe
that defined the decade.
The highlight? The "Blast!" onomatopoeia at the heart of the design—giving the identity an energetic pop that instantly connects to the era’s love for bold, dynamic visuals. Every element was crafted to capture the joyful chaos of the ‘90s while appealing to a contemporary audience.
